Gary Tanous is a certified ASC BFI with over 2,000 hours of logged flight time with nearly half of this on floats.

In 2005 he decided that a better float system was need to provide ultralight and light sport aircraft with a better performing float system.

Thus was born the "Saw Tooth" float system called the Sea Eagle.

The Sea Eagle series of floats range from the Legal Eagle with a displacement of 600 lbs, up through the American Eagle 1450 lbs, The Stellar Sea Eagle 1850 lbs, the White Bellied Sea Eagle 2450 lbs to the African Fish Eagle of 2850 lbs.

All five models are made from "high tech, foam reinforced polyethylene and feature the unique "Saw Tooth" design. The floats work on both fixed wing three axis control conventional style light sport aircraft and flex wing trikes.

The system comes complete with hydro dynamic impact resistant water tight polyethylene floats. A strong yet light weight Titanium amphib gear including mounting hardware tail dragger configurations. Trike amphib gear is an option. The Rite Angle stall warning system is included with the package.

The floats were originally designed for trike application but after undergoing extensive testing it was found that they could also be used on fixed wing aircraft. The floats are produced using roto mould technology, which has required an $80,000 investment to produce the initial molds.

The use of the reinforced polyethylene foam material allows the floats to be hydrodynamically designed for better performance on water. It is also considerably stronger than aluminum or fibreglass is impact resistant, and is not effected by UV sunlight.

The complete light sport aircraft system with Titanium amphib gear is hand operated by one arm, comes in at only 130 lbs.
