With the introduction of the new light sport aircraft category pilots are now able to purchase aircraft ready to fly fitted with just about anything that they can dream up.

With this of course comes a price tag. Instead of just purchasing a kit which could start as low as $10,000 they are now looking at buying a fly away aircraft with all the bells and whistles.

This could bring the starting price of their dream machine to well over $50,000. With this kind of pricing many pilots will be looking to finance. In the past many lenders shied away from ultralights and experimental aircraft because of the lower dollar figures involved. Now with the vast amount of light sport aircraft offered, and the prices involved, lenders are coming forward with programs specifically for the light sport aircraft category.

Beacon Aero Credit with locations across the U.S. was at Sun N Fun 2006 with several programs for amounts from $50,000 to $99,000 with rates as low as 8.19% over a 15 year term for personal use aircraft with no lease back.

They also had similar programs for personal use with limited lease back at 8.49% over a 12 year term, and a lease back flight school rental program with an 8.99% rate over a 7 year term.

These programs are available for new as well as factory demonstrator aircraft. The loans have competitive fixed rate interest with no application fees, require only a 20% down payment (25% on lease back). The loans are available for new or used aircraft, or refinancing of existing aircraft.
