Remos Aircraft manufacturer of the Remos G-3 was at the AOPA convention with two displays one in the convention hall the other in the Lightsport Aircraft Mall at theAnother nice feature is that the wings can be folded in about 5 minutes, allowing storage in the area of a single car garage. Hartford-Brainard Airport. The Remos G3 is an all composite aircraft design which has been manufactured and flying in Germany for over fourteen years. It is also currently the number one selling Lightsport/Ultralight class aircraft in Germany.

The factory has invested a great deal of money in equipment and facilities in an effort to place itself in the lead for world market share in the Lightsport aircraft market.

The Remos G3 features side by side seating in a wide, ergonomically designed cockpit. Controls are standard dual stick and rudder with electric flaps. New craft coming into the U.S. market will have a center and a left hand throttle assembly.

Ground handling is by direct nosewheel steering, which allows the plane turn around in 25 foot circle. The Remos G3 features side by side seating in a wide, ergonomically designed cockpit.

Power is supplied by the Rotax 912 S 100 HP aircraft engine. This gives it a cruise of over 110 knots, a climb rate of over 1,000 feet per minute, and a stall with flaps below 40knots.

Fuel capacity is 21 gallons usable which gives a comfortable four hours of flying with a reserve.

A safety feature built into the fuel system is that the gas cap uses the same key as the ignition, and once put into the gas cap it cannot be removed until the gas cap is replaced. Thus a pilot cannot inadvertently take off without his gas cap installed.

The plane can be flown with the doors on or off, with removal taking less than a minute with no tools required. Another nice feature is that the wings can be folded in about 5 minutes, allowing storage in the area of a single car garage.

Remos has started a very aggressive marketing campaign, targeted directly at the Cessna SkyCatcher. In their ad they point out that pilots buying a SkyCatcher will not get delivery until 2009! While they can buy now and fly now a Remos G3!

As an added incentive they are offering current Cessna SkyCatcher buyers a $5,000 credit towards the purchase of a Remos G-3.
