Quad City Challenger II design.

The Quad City Challenger II was first introduced in 1984. It was designed and produced by Chuck Hamilton and Dave Goulet of Quad City Aircraft Corp Moline, Illinois.

The Challenger series includes a single place, the two place long wing, the two place wide body, and the two place clipped wing.

Over 3,000 Challenger aircraft have been produced making it one of the most successful light sport aircraft designs and companies in the industry.

The kit is available in a quick build kit using Dacron sail cloth which will take about 100 hours to complete. Or with standard aircraft covering that will take between 200 and 300 hours to complete. The conventional style fabric gives the covering a longer life expectancy, and the plane a better cruising speed.

Like the Volkswagen Beatle the design has undergone a lot of changes over the years, but the outward appearance has remained the same.

It features front and back seating with dual controls. The Challenger II was originally designed to be flown with just a windshield for a more wide open style of flying. Later doors were introduced to add more pilot comfort for flying in colder climates.

It is easily adaptable to both ski's, floats, and amphib floats. Challenger works through a dealer network so that sales and service are available across North America.
