Aventura II power and handling.

Power can be supplied by various engines starting with the Rotax 582, 65 HP liquid cooled two stroke aircraft engine, on up through the Rotax 912, 912S and 914 four cylinder four cycle aircraft engines.

The preferred engine by customers to date is the Rotax 912S 100 HP engine which is what the craft used in this report was powered by.

This engine, airframe combination gives excellent performance, on the ground and in the air.

With the only drawback being that pilots must be aware that the power combined with an overhead and rear positioned engine must be allowed for during all flight operations.

Taxiing downwind or suddenly applying power is sure to get your attention, as is landing on a paved runway and taxiing fast with the tail in the air.

The suspension system on the Aventura II consists of two 4130 chromoly steel, heat treat, nickel plated landing gear legs, with a retractable steerable Matco tail wheel.

Suspension is provided by the flexing of the main gear and the use of low pressure tires. The steerable tailwheel gives positive response through it's full range, and is designed to break free and rotate 180 degrees so that a pilot can pull the craft rearward or turn it for ease of parking etc.

Pilot's can also use differential braking to aid in turning the craft when taxiing.

The manual elevator trim is comfortably located between the seats. Rudder trim is via a fixed trim tab.
