Carlson Aircraft Sparrow Sport Special single place light sport eligible aircraft.

The Carlson Sport Special is a single seat tail dragger, with a fully enclosed cockpit. It has a 26 foot wing, with a 54 inch cord.

Power is supplied by the Rotax 50 HP twin cylinder dual cdi, dual carburator aircraft engine.

The Sport Special has a spring loaded shock main suspension system, which makes it ideal for landing in field and back yard strips. Mechanical brakes come standard as large storage space for packing away a sleeping bag or cooler.

The fuselage, tail section, landing gear and motor mount are oxy-acetylene welded. The airframe comes epoxy primed ready for covering. The wings use extruded aluminum I T-6- 6061 aircraft grade aluminum spars. The ribs are all reformed ready to rivet into place.

The Carlson Sport Special can be built with simple hand tools, in a one or two car garage with building times in the 300 to 400 range.

The Sport Special has wings which fold to legal road limits, and comes with slave strut and tail support.
